Sources

Every dataset, every licence, cited.

An atlas is only as good as what it is drawn from. These are the sources behind every map and study card in AtlasMitra.

Boundary statement

India, as per the Survey of India

India is shown with its full extent as per the Survey of India, including PoK and Aksai Chin. The 36 State and UT polygons are the official extent; India’s outline on the world map is built from them, and neighbouring countries are clipped so that no ground is claimed twice. An automated test walks the whole boundary on every build and fails if any of this is lost.

River study cards cite their own sources (Central Water Commission / India-WRIS and district administrations); each is listed on that river’s page under Rivers of India.

The site is set like an atlas: water names in italic, ranges in wide capitals, places upright. It uses one type family, IBM Plex, which also ships in the app. All of it is free under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
